GHRP-2 is the newest peptide that has been discovered to be a gut peptide which will bind to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor. It is a synthetic agonist of ghrelin. The studies of Ghrelin have shown 2 major effects which include meal initiation/appetite and GH secretion. This peptide has been widely studied for its effectiveness as a growth hormone secretagogue. Studies done on animals have shown it influences the food consumption. Yet, it is not known when GHRP-2 is administered whether it can stimulate appetite in humans.
